Instagram: who did this profile recently follow?
Enter the username of a public Instagram profile above. If we already keep a history for it, you see the accounts it started following in recent weeks, each with a date. That works for well-known brands and creators. For every other profile the tool shows an excerpt of the current following list.
One thing up front, because it is explained wrong almost everywhere: Instagram does not sort the following list by the date someone was followed. We measured it on real profiles. New follows were at the very top for some and at position 258 of 556 for others. Anyone who sells you the first five entries of the list as “recently followed” is guessing. The only reliable way to spot new follows is to compare the list over time.

For many well-known public profiles SocialChecker already compares the following list several times a day. The tool then shows which accounts were added in the last 30 days and when we noticed.

Honest instead of guessed
Without a history we show an excerpt of the current list and say plainly that it is not sorted by date. A “recently followed” list built from a single request would simply be wrong for many profiles.

Can you see who someone recently followed on Instagram?
Not directly. Instagram does not sort the following list by date. The reliable way is comparison: if you know the list today and tomorrow, you see who was added. That is what SocialChecker does for watched profiles.
Are the first entries of the following list the newest ones?
No, not reliably. We checked on real profiles on 24 September 2026: for some, new follows were at the top, for others in the middle of the list, for example at position 258 of 556. Tools that show the first entries as “recently followed” are wrong for many profiles.
Why do some profiles show a history and others do not?
A history only exists once we have been comparing the profile’s list for a while. We show it publicly only for well-known profiles with at least 10,000 followers or a verified badge, meaning brands and creators. For any other profile you get the history once you add it in the app.
Will the person know I checked?
No. SocialChecker does not use an Instagram account of yours and only reads publicly visible data.
Does it work for private profiles?
No. A private profile’s following list is not public, and no legitimate tool can get it. Be careful with sites that promise this or ask for your password.
How much does it cost?
The tool is free: three searches a day without an account, up to 50 with a free account. Automatic comparison with push notifications is part of the app subscriptions (Basic 3, Premium 10, Ultra 50 profiles).
