What the story viewer does and does not do

Instagram only lists accounts that opened a story themselves. Tricks like airplane mode or half-swiping are unreliable. The tool loads the story without your Instagram account, so your name cannot show up there.

Can you watch Instagram stories anonymously?
For public profiles, yes. The tool fetches stories without your Instagram account. Since you never open the story with your own account, you cannot appear in the viewer list.
Will the person see that I viewed their story?
No. The viewer list only shows accounts that opened the story in Instagram itself. Your SocialChecker account is not visible to the profile.
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free SocialChecker account. You do not need an Instagram account and you never enter your Instagram credentials.
Does it work with private profiles?
No. Stories of private accounts are only visible to approved followers and cannot be retrieved, not with other tools either.
Why are no stories shown?
Most likely the profile has no active story right now. Stories disappear after 24 hours, and many profiles do not post every day.
Can I view Instagram stories after 24 hours?
Not with the web tool, which only shows active stories. An expired story is only available if it was saved beforehand. The SocialChecker app archives stories of watched profiles from the moment you add the profile.
