How it works
Instagram's viewer list shows the accounts that watched a story. SocialChecker fetches public stories through its own servers, not through your account, so your name does not appear there. Private profiles cannot be retrieved.

Following changes with dates
For every profile you watch, SocialChecker checks the following count every hour. If it changes, the list is compared and you see which accounts were added or dropped.

What we store
For your account we store your email address, the profiles you watch and your settings. Media of public profiles is kept on our servers so the archive works. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.

Is this allowed?
Viewing public content is allowed. SocialChecker only uses publicly visible data. Saved content still belongs to its creators: do not redistribute it, and do not use the app to stalk anyone.
Will the person see that I viewed their story?
No. The request runs through SocialChecker, not through an Instagram account, so you do not appear in the viewer list. There is no notification either.
Do I need an Instagram account?
No. You sign in to SocialChecker with email, Apple or Google. We never ask for Instagram credentials.
How often are profiles checked?
Stories every 30 minutes, posts and following lists every hour, Instagram highlights once a day.
Is my data shared with third parties?
Only with service providers we need to run the service, for example hosting, push and billing through the App Store and Google Play. They are listed in the privacy policy. We do not sell data.
Does SocialChecker work with private profiles?
SocialChecker can only monitor publicly accessible profiles and stories. On Snapchat that means public creator and brand profiles only. Private profiles cannot be viewed without the appropriate permission.
How many profiles can I watch?
3 with Basic, 10 with Premium and 50 with Ultra, across all platforms combined. The web tools allow up to 50 searches a day with a free account.
How much does SocialChecker cost?
The app and the web tools are free, and in the app you can look at demo profiles. To watch your own profiles you need a plan (Basic, Premium or Ultra), monthly or yearly.
